History

Sani Konukoğlu, experiencing the difficulties resulting from absence of a state-of-the art healthcare center equipped with modern technology in Gaziantep, initiated the foundation of Private Sani Konukoğlu Hospital in 1993 and continued his efforts until 1994, the year he passed away.

Carrying his ideas into life Konukoğlu family opened the Private Sani Konukoğlu Hospital in August 1996, which is currently one of the largest healthcare organizations in our country.

The Hospital is operated under a modern hospital management approach with TS-EN ISO-9001 Quality System Certification, which was awarded in April 1998. Private Sani Konukoğlu Hospital is the fourth in private hospital to be accredited by TSE in Turkey and sixth among all hospitals. In 2003, quality system certificate was upgraded to TS-ISO-EN 9001:2000, and TS-ISO-EN 9001:2008 version was introduced in 2009.

Identified with high quality and world-class health service, the Hospital continues to deliver specialist diagnostic and treatment methods are applied in the medical units including emergency room, laboratory, radiology, nuclear medicine, cardiovascular surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, internal medicine, gastroenterology, endocrinology, otorhinolaryngology, pediatrics, cardiology, pulmonary diseases, urology, orthopedics and traumatology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, plastic & reconstructive surgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, psychiatry, thoracic surgery, dermatology and assisted reproductive technology treatment center.

In response to the immense demand from the public, construction of an additional building was launched in 2006 and completed in November 2009, enabling the organization to serve people of the Gaziantep region in a compound of two buildings. The Hospital was established on a 2,500 square meter of land, and overall operational space of 18,000 square meters was expanded with a 13 story additional building erected on a 7500 square meters land, possessing an operational indoor space of 42,000 square meters, carrying the overall operational space of the institution up to roughly 60,000 square meters. With capacity of 611 beds, the healthcare facility is Turkey's largest private hospital.
